Lost Necklace at Heritage Park
A necklace with a madonna del ghisallo (the patron saint of cycling) medallion on it was lost by a racer this past Sunday. It was snagged by a low hanging limb about 50 feet before the big climb on the expert loop. This necklace has a very high sentimental value to it's owner. Bike, horse riders agree to share paths at Oconee's Heritage park
WATKINSVILLE - For Linda Kundell - and her horses, too - there's nothing quite like a ride through the woods.
"It's a very therapeutic thing for a horse to be out in the woods, instead of just riding around in a circle," said the Oconee County resident. "You can only ride around the pasture so many times."

New Trail at Heritage
The "Boy Scout" trail is now open for riding at Oconee Heritage Park. The new trail will serve as the trailhead once the parking lot is moved to its new location in the front field. The photo on the right was taken after a rainy January work party which cleaned out the trail corridor.
