Road Closures At Lake Russell WMA
As of December 16, 2009, there are currently several road closures in the Lake Russell WMA which may impact your ability to ride there.
Be advised that Frady Branch Road, Red Root Road, and the SE section near Farmers Bottom and Soapstone Mountain are all closed, with several bridges washed out due to recent heavy rains.
You can check the status of all Georgia WMA closures at this site.
We keep tabs on the situation and try to post updates on Lake Russell WMA status as we get them....

Odd/Even Signs at Heritage Park
It has been brought to SORBA Athens' attention that several Odd/Even Notice signs have been removed from the park and in one case put in the trash dumpster. SORBA Athens is confident that no SORBA member would stoop to such a level of disrespect for someone else's property and ask that anyone observing similar behavior encourage the perpetrator to find a better use of his/her time. New Trail at Heritage
The "Boy Scout" trail is now open for riding at Oconee Heritage Park. The new trail will serve as the trailhead once the parking lot is moved to its new location in the front field. The photo on the right was taken after a rainy January work party which cleaned out the trail corridor.
