**We will wrap up the Trail Care Crew visit with a screening of the film unReal at Southern Brewing Company at 7:30 Saturday evening. $10 gets you in and includes beer tour/tastings.

Yes, we know it's Halloween, but we promise to have you home hours before Trick-or-Treating starts! Please come out to the Trail Creek Trails on Saturday with the kids in tow (plus their bikes and helmets!). We will meet at the "gravel triangle" on the Green trail at Trail Creek Park in Athens. The gravel triangle can be easily accessed from the Trail Creek Greenway; just look for the access trail entrance near where the Greenway ends at Trail Creek St. (check out the Trail Map here) Bike-friendly costumes are encouraged (something that won't get caught in chains, etc.), and the event gets under way at 10AM. We will lead rides on our beginner-friendly Green trail and the intermediate Orange Crush trail, and we will feed you, too! https://www.facebook.com/events/905928539443887/

Thanks to everyone who came out to our Firkin Fundraiser last night. And special thanks to Terrapin, Osprey, SRAM, Chainbuster Racing, Dustin Watts, Erick Neely, Condor Chocolates, and The Royal Peasant for their continued support.

If you left before the raffle, here are the ticket numbers for the unclaimed prizes. Check the last three digits on your ticket and email us  or message us on Facebook if you have a winning ticket.

Nothing could be easier--or more fun--than drinking a special Terrapin Moo-Hoo cask featuring Condor Chocolate and supporting local trails (except perhaps riding those trails!). Please join us at the Royal Peasant on Tuesday, October 6th at 6pm. Cheers!
Once again, Terrapin makes it easy and fun to support transportation choices and mountain bike trails in Athens. This "percentage night" will help Bike Athens and SORBA-Athens continue to maintain and advocate for all of your biking choices in Athens. See you there: Friday, August 14th starting at 4:30pm.
There are now over 4 miles of trails open with a variety of features and skill levels.  There is something for everyone at Trail Creek.  We still need to do the finish work on the short downhill section of Drive-by Truckers, add another short downhill run on Orange Crush, and add another access trail near the retention pond/crosswalk, but other than that Trail Creek is ready to ride!  Check out the new TRAIL MAP.  More info including descriptions of each trail section can be found on our TRAILS PAGE.  Please ride safely and always wear a helmet!
May 16th and 17th will be workdays out at Trail Creek. Come on out and help us finish the Drive-By Truckers trail. 12-3pm each day with food served up after we're done working. Sunday the 17th will be an especially fun day, with the Estrogen Cyclers gathering at Trail Creek at 10am for some riding and coaching by some of Athens finest mountain bikers prior to the volunteer workday. Check out the Facebook event page for more information.

The Crit is scheduled to start at 4:40p.m.
Please be downtown by 4p.m.

You must be pre-registered to ride in the Mountain Bike Criterium downtown and you must purchase the one day USAC license either downtown at the Washington Street Parking Deck or online here (print it out and bring it with you).

**the route has been altered slightly from the map above. riders will now start and end in the middle parking lot...next to the tree symbol above...and ride on the walkway that starts at the west end of that parking lot.**

Riders will start the 2.5 mile course in the middle parking lot of Trail Creek Park. Riders will race up the paved path by the soccer field, through the woods, and back around the upper parking lot.  Riders will enter the trail system traveling clockwise and descend down Panic, through the Pine Forest, and race under the Trail Creek Street bridge. Next riders will cross over the Boyscout Bridge and turn left onto the Green Trail. In this super fast section riders will turn left onto the Connector Trial, then follow the Orange Trail from last year's course through the upper section of the trail. Riders will then fly down the power line descent, bypassing Josh's Jump, and connect back to the Green Trail. The final section of the course will be the Green Trail to the Gravel Triangle. Once at the Gravel Triangle, riders will exit the trail system onto the Greenway, and the final sprint of the course will be on the Greenway and Trail Creek Street. Riders will have to finish strong on the final uphill drag back to the middle parking lot of the park.

Top 50 times across all categories will qualify to race in the nighttime Scott Mountain Bike Finals Criterium, which will be held on the downtown 4-corner Twilight course and will be 20K long (20 laps). Payouts will be determined based on the number of entrants.

Criterium Rules:
In an effort to make this a true mountain bike race, riders will ride the same bike for the Criterium as they ride for the Time Trial, except tires may be switched out.

- Gears and chain rings can NOT be switched out.
- No drop bars will be allowed.
- Tire width has to be at least 1.5 inches.
- Slick tires are allowed.
- Please plan to be there early so that they can stay on schedule.

Day of registration starts at 7:30 a.m. Racing starts at 9 a.m. Only check and cash will be accepted as payment on Saturday for on-site registration.

Online registration closes @ Noon on Wednesday, April 22, 2014.

Entry fee is $25 for racers who pre-register online. There is a $10 late fee for day-of registration. Any racer who does not have a USAC license will have to purchase a $10 1-day license onsite.

Little Kings will be the SORBA-Athens headquarters for Twilight both Friday night and all day/night Saturday. There is a suggested minimum donation of $5 at the door, all of which will go directly to SORBA-Athens. We will also get a percentage of all Terrapin beer sold. With the new Twilight route this year Little Kings will be on one of the most exciting corners on the course with great spots for viewing the races. Come party with us at Twilight and support our efforts to build more trails in the Athens area.
